Several factors for selecting bearing types
1. Bearing radial load
The bearings that mainly bear radial loads are radial bearings. The nominal contact angle of this type of bearing a0<=45 0="" br="">N type and NU type cylindrical roller bearings can only withstand radial loads, while other types of radial bearings can withstand both radial and axial loads.
2. Axial load of bearing
The bearings that mainly bear axial loads are generally thrust bearings, with a nominal contact angle a0>450. Thrust bearings and thrust angular contact ball bearings can simultaneously withstand axial forces in one or two directions depending on their structure. When the axial force is particularly high, thrust cylindrical roller bearings and thrust self-aligning roller bearings are preferred.
Thrust self-aligning roller bearings and unidirectional thrust angular contact ball bearings can withstand both axial and radial loads, while other thrust bearings can only withstand axial loads.
3. Compensation for the length of the bearing itself
Supporting a shaft and bearing usually adopts a combination of fixed bearings and floating bearings. The length error and thermal expansion of the compensating shaft of the floating bearing.
NU type and N type cylindrical roller bearings are ideal swimming bearings, and these bearings themselves can compensate for length. The inner and outer rings of the bearing can be tightly fitted.
Length compensation for sliding fit
Non separable bearings (such as deep groove ball bearings and self-aligning roller bearings) can also be used as floating bearings. One of the two rings of this type of bearing is a fit and does not have an axial fixed surface. Therefore, one ring of the bearing can move on its supporting surface.
4. Detachable bearing (accuracy)
This is a type of bearing where the rings can be installed separately, and its advantages are very prominent when both rings are in a tight fit.
Detachable bearings include four point contact ball bearings, double row angular contact ball bearings with double half inner rings, cylindrical roller bearings, tapered roller bearings, thrust ball bearings, thrust cylindrical roller bearings, and thrust self-aligning roller bearings.
Here is also a type of non separable bearing that can be introduced:). Non separable bearings include: deep groove ball bearings, single row angular contact ball bearings, self-aligning ball bearings, Peng shaped roller bearings, and self-aligning roller bearings.
accuracy
In most cases, rolling bearings of general size and rotational accuracy are sufficient. When the requirements are higher, bearings require a higher level of accuracy, such as machine tool spindle bearings.
5. Compensation for non neutrality
Non neutrality occurs when machining the mating surface of the journal or bearing seat, especially when the machining of the mating surface is not completed in a single fixture. Misalignment can also occur when using bearing pedestals, such as flange bearing pedestals or vertical bearing pedestals. Due to the bending deformation of the shaft caused by the working load, misalignment can also occur when the inner and outer rings of the bearing tilt.
Self aligning bearings can compensate for misalignment and inclination, such as self aligning ball bearings, Peng shaped roller bearings, radial and thrust self aligning roller bearings. These types of bearings all have a concave spherical outer race where the rolling element and inner race can rotate. The ability of these bearings to compensate for shaft center deviation angle depends on their own type, size, and load condition.
Both outer spherical bearings and thrust ball bearings with seat rings have a spherical bearing surface that can be adjusted to compensate for misalignment when installed in a concave spherical seat ring.
