The importance of correct measures for extending the service life of self aligning roller bearings

Strong impact on bearings during use can result in scars and indentations, which can be the cause of accidents. In severe cases, cracks and fractures may occur, so attention must be paid.



To avoid replacing existing tools with bearings, appropriate tools must be used. We often emphasize the importance of tools because too many customers have used the wrong tools during installation, resulting in damage to the aligning roller bearings.



On the shaft and in the bearing seat, the bearing requires its position to be fixed in three directions: radial, axial, and tangential. Radial and tangential positioning is achieved through tight fitting of bearing rings, while axial positioning is only achieved in a few cases through tight fitting; Generally, axial limiting parts such as end caps and retaining rings are used to limit the axial position within the clearance range.



When selecting a fit, the following four points should be emphasized:



(1) The circumferential surface of the bearing ring should have good support and uniform force to reduce deformation and fully utilize the load-bearing capacity of the self-aligning roller bearing.



(2) The ferrule cannot slide along the tangent direction in its mating surface, otherwise it will damage the mating surface.



(3) The free end bearing must be able to adapt to the length changes of the shaft and bearing seat hole, that is, it must have the ability to adapt to the axial position within a certain range of movement.



(4) Attention must be paid to making the installation and disassembly of bearings simple, labor-saving, time-saving, and cost-saving. When operating self aligning roller bearings, sweat on the hands can become the cause of rust. Pay attention to using clean hands for operation, and it is best to wear gloves as much as possible.



Proper removal tools should be used to prevent damage to other machine components. Improper removal techniques may cause damage to the bearings. If the bearings reach their final service life, they should be replaced. Although self-aligning roller bearings cannot be used again, correctly removing the original bearings and replacing them in a timely manner can greatly promote the extension of the service life of the new bearings. Therefore, the replacement of old and new bearings is very important, which requires professional personnel to inspect and operate



The use of a thermal sensor can monitor the working temperature of the dynamic bearing at any time, and achieve automatic alarm or rest when the temperature exceeds the designated value to prevent shaft accidents from occurring. High temperature often indicates that the bearing is in abnormal condition. High temperatures are also harmful to the lubricant of bearings. Sometimes overheating of bearings can be attributed to the lubricant used in the bearings. If the self aligning roller bearing is continuously transferred at a temperature exceeding 125 ℃ for a long time, the bearing life will be reduced. The causes of high temperature bearings include insufficient or excessive lubrication, lubricants. It contains impurities, excessive load, bearing ring damage, insufficient clearance, and high friction caused by oil seals.



Therefore, it is necessary to continuously monitor the temperature of dynamic bearings, whether it is measuring the bearing itself or other important parts. If the operating conditions remain unchanged, any temperature change can indicate that a malfunction has occurred. The scheduled measurement of bearing temperature can be achieved through thermometers, such as digital thermometers, which can accurately measure the temperature of self-aligning roller bearings and display them in units of ℃ or Fahrenheit.



The temperature of a bearing can generally be inferred from the temperature outside the bearing chamber. If the temperature of the outer ring of the bearing can be directly measured using an oil hole, the bearing is more suitable. Usually, the temperature of the self-aligning roller bearing gradually increases with the bearing operation, and reaches a stable state after 1-2 hours. The normal temperature of bearings varies depending on the heat capacity, heat dissipation, rotational speed, and load of the machine. If the lubrication and installation parts are suitable, the bearing temperature will suddenly rise, causing abnormal high temperatures. At this time, it is necessary to stop running and take necessary preventive measures.
